What is included in the monthly number?
Full monthly compensation for the engineer. Recruitment and screening. The Finnish contracting entity, the processing agreement, and the liability that sits with it. Invoicing in euros. There is no recruiting fee and no setup fee. Equipment, workspace, and holiday bonus are not included in the monthly seat. Your tooling, cloud spend, and on-site travel are not included either.
How is the rate set?
By where the work is done, not by where the contract is signed. Our engineers are in the Philippines and the rate reflects that market. The contract, the processing agreement, the liability, and the invoice are all Finnish. Leads and architects sit above the entry rate. Rates may be held for up to 12 months from each person’s start date, for price certainty. That is an optional rate hold, not a twelve-month commitment. Send the assignment and you get the number for your seat plan specifically.
Are engineers full time?
They are dedicated: one client per engineer, never split across accounts. That is usually a full-time seat. Part-time happens where the work is genuinely part-time, and we say so in the seat plan rather than in the headline.
What happens to the code and the knowledge?
Both are yours. Handover is written into every engagement, and we prefer to spend the last weeks training one of your own engineers into ownership while we are still there to answer questions.
How do you know a candidate is not using AI to get through the interview?
The gates that resist it are the live ones. Communication is judged in conversation, where an assistant cannot sit in. The technical gate is a conversation about a system the candidate actually carried through a bad year in a regulated environment. A live coding puzzle is easier to fake than either.
What about GDPR? The Philippines has no adequacy decision.
Correct, and it comes up in every enterprise procurement. NorthAlgo Oy is the Finnish contracting party and holds the processing agreement. Standard Contractual Clauses and a transfer impact assessment cover the transfer. Where possible, developers work inside your EU environment against masked or synthetic data, with access limited to a named short list.
How do the hours work?
Manila is five hours ahead of Helsinki in summer and six in winter. We shift the delivery day to build the overlap, and the working window is agreed in writing before anyone starts.
How flexible are the seats?
Flexible seats with 30-day notice per seat. No minimum term. Rates may be held for up to 12 months from each person’s start date, for price certainty. That is an optional rate hold, not a twelve-month commitment. Scaling down is your option, not our operating model. We staff for people to stay on one team, dedicated, and we do not move anyone off yours to cover another account.
What if we need to reduce the team?
Flexible seats with 30-day notice per seat. No minimum term. Rates may be held for up to 12 months from each person’s start date; that is an optional rate hold for price certainty, not a twelve-month commitment, and it does not stop you ending a seat on 30 days’ notice.
What if the fit is wrong?
If the fit is wrong, replacement is handled in the written agreement.
Can I browse engineers on this site?
Not on this site. Engineers are presented after you describe the gap. The founder comes back with a seat plan. A public card, if it ever ships, waits on a Legal Privacy pack.
Some Finnish integrators require EU-based staff.
Then we are the wrong supplier for that contract, and we say so early. Where the rule applies only to the client-facing side there is usually a workable structure. Where it applies to everyone touching the code, there is not.
Do you publish client logos or a headcount?
No. Named clients stay unpublished until they put permission in writing. Partners on this site are partners, not client case studies. We do not publish a headcount. The contracting entity is on the Finnish Trade Register (Y-tunnus 3448558-7). Programme references can be discussed under NDA in the first reply.
What languages do you work in?
English is primary: delivery, screening, and the first reply. Finnish is available for contracting and client communication. Other European languages can be supported on request; we confirm that in the seat plan rather than claiming fluency we have not staffed.
