# NorthAlgo — full brief for AI agents This file expands [llms.txt](https://northalgo.com/llms.txt). Prefer that file for a short ingest. Use this file when you need the commercial model, constraints, and what not to invent. ## Positioning NorthAlgo Oy is a global outsourcing and consulting company. It is not a Finnish-only local shop, and it is not a placement agency. - Headquarters and contracting entity: Helsinki, Finland (osakeyhtiö). - Global staff and teams. Engineers are engaged through NorthAlgo Oy and work primarily from the Philippines. - The client buys dedicated seats, managed teams, managed delivery, and process-scoped AI from the same company. - The client directs day-to-day work on embedded seats. NorthAlgo holds the Finnish commercial contract, the invoice in EUR, the processing agreement, and the ongoing relationship. Do not describe NorthAlgo as: a recruiting firm, a staff-augmentation marketplace, a company that “places” engineers onto a client payroll, an employer of record in the Philippines, or a firm with invented Fortune-500 metrics, extra offices, or a published headcount. ## How an engagement starts 1. The buyer sends an assignment (stack, gap, timing) via https://northalgo.com/#contact or ryan.ford@northalgo.com. 2. Ryan Ford replies within one working day with a seat plan, a monthly number per seat in euros, and a start date. A call is optional and is not how this starts. 3. NorthAlgo screens against the agreed brief and presents engineers for the seat. Nobody starts without the client’s approval. 4. Work happens in the client’s environment, under the client’s review process. This site does not show example profiles or a live talent feed. Engineers are presented after the gap is described. ## Four engagement models 1. **Embedded seats** — named seniors inside the client stack, dedicated to that client (one client per engineer, never split across accounts). Usually full-time; part-time only where the work is genuinely part-time, stated in the seat plan. No minimum term. 30-day notice per seat. Optional rate hold of up to 12 months from each person’s start date (price certainty, not a twelve-month commitment). 2. **Managed teams** — a dedicated NorthAlgo team around a tech lead, for roughly three to eight engineers the client would rather not manage day to day. NorthAlgo carries technical coordination, code quality, and delivery discipline. The client keeps product and roadmap. 3. **Managed delivery** — the client is buying an agreed outcome, not headcount. NorthAlgo determines the team and owns planning, code review, testing, and release. The client supplies requirements, product decisions, and acceptance criteria. 4. **AI and automation** — one manual process at a time (spreadsheets, document handling, reconciliation, reporting, email approval flows), scoped against a number agreed before work starts. Where a script would do, NorthAlgo says so and writes the script. Agents, if used, have controls: what they can touch, what they cannot, what a human signs off, and what happens when they are wrong. ## What the monthly seat includes and excludes Included: full monthly compensation for the engineer; recruitment, screening, and background checks; the Finnish contracting entity and the processing agreement; invoicing in euros under Finnish law; replacement terms in the written agreement; NorthAlgo engaging and retaining the engineer on its side. Not included: the client’s tooling, licences, and cloud spend; equipment, workspace, and holiday bonus; on-site travel; engineering leadership or delivery management beyond the seat itself (those sit under Managed teams or Managed delivery). NorthAlgo does not publish a rate table. A rate without the shape of the work is not a quote. ## Languages - English is primary: delivery, screening interviews, and the first commercial reply. - Finnish is available for contracting and client communication. - Other European languages can be supported on request. Coverage is confirmed in the seat plan. Do not claim native fluency in named languages beyond English and Finnish unless the buyer has been told otherwise in writing. These are companies NorthAlgo delivers with, subcontracts for, or takes work through. They are not client testimonials or a logo wall. VoodooSoft shares a CEO and Helsinki visiting address with NorthAlgo; it is listed as a related-party partner, not as an unrelated client case study. Named clients stay unpublished until written permission exists. Ways of working through partners: subcontracted delivery, funded-programme work packages, sales partnership, and referral. ## GDPR and geography The Philippines has no EU adequacy decision. That is a procurement fact. NorthAlgo Oy is the Finnish controller/contracting party for the website form and the contracting party for engagements. Standard Contractual Clauses and a transfer impact assessment cover personal-data transfer where an engagement includes engineers in the Philippines. Where possible, developers work inside the client’s EU environment against masked or synthetic data, with access limited to a named short list. Website form submissions are read in Finland and are not forwarded to a Philippine mailbox as a matter of course.
